WHERE as Henry dudley, Christofer Aston thelder, Chrystofer Aston the younger, francis Horsey, Edwarde Horsey, Roberte cornwall, Alias cornwall, richard Tremayne, Nycholas Tremayne Richard Ryth, Roger Reinoldes. John Dale, john Calton, Hamond, & Meuerel, forgetting their dueties to almighty God, their alle gyaunce to the kings & queens majesties, & not regarding that good & quiet state of their native country, haue of late unnaturally, and most traitorously attempted, imagined, conspired, compassed, and practised many notable acts, conspiracies, and detestable treasones, intending thereby not onely the destruction of the king and queens most royal persons, but also the disturbance of the peace and tranquillitie of this realm, and the invasion, and subuersyon of the same, yf their malyces & malignityes might haue taken such success as they intended. Who knowing themselves false conspirators, and traitors to the said king and queens majesties, & their said realm, haue of late contrary to the laws of this realm, withdrawn themselves and be fled, and departed into the parties of beyond the Seas, where they do still remain, and continue in contempt of their said majesties, & of their laws, not cefsynge to pracetyse and execute their malicyous and traitorous purposes, and enterprises against our said sovereign lord and Lady, the king and the queens Maiestyes, & this their realm and dominion, contrary to their duty of allegyance, where by they cannot presently be brought to trial according to the laws and stacutes of this realm, in that case provided forsuch offences conspiracies, and treasones, as haue been by them and every of them committed, perpetrated & done. And to thintent our said sovereign Lord and Lady, the king & queens majesties, true faithful and iouynge subiectes, of this realm, being ignorant of such conspiracies & treasones, as haue been perpetrated committed & done by the said Henry Dudley, Christofer Aston thelder, Christofer Aston the younger, Frauneys Horsey, Edward Horsey, Robert cornwall, Alias cornwall, richard Tremayne, Nicholas Tremayne, Richard Ryth, Roger Reinolds, John Dale, john Caltō, Hamond and Meuerel, should not incur the danger of their highnes laws, or be impeached or troubled, for aiding comforting or helping them or any of thē hereafter, do therefore by this their highnes procla mation, pronounce, publish. and declare the said Henry Dudley, Christofer Aston thelder, Christofer Aston the younger, Frauneys Horsey, Edwarde Horsey, Roberte cornwall, Alias cornwall, richard Tremayne, Nycholas Tremayne, richard Ryth, Roger Reinoldes, john Dale, john Caltō Hamond, and Meuerell, and every of them to be notorious, and manifest traitors, to their said majesties, and their said realm. And therefore will and command all and singular their good true, & natural subiectes, that they do not aid the said Henry Dudley, Christofer Aston thelder, Christofer Aston the younger, Fayuncys Horsey, Edwarde Horsey, Robert cornwall, Alias cornwall, richard Tremayne, Nicholas Tremayne, richard Ryth, Roger Reynoldes, john Dale, john Calton Hamond and Meuerell, nor any of them, with any thing, nor adhere or haue access unto the said trai towers or any of them within this realm, or without. But do that lie in their powers, to apprehed the said traitors, and every of them, as they will avoid their majesties high indignation & displeasure, and the penalties, of their laws and statutes. And further the king and queens most excellent majesties, straightly charge and command all and singular Iustices of peace, Maires, sheriffs bailiffs, Constables. Customers, controllers, Searchers, and all other their highness officers, & ministers, of the ports, and Crekes of this their said realm, and the dominions of the same, to haue a vigilant eye, and regard to the said ports, & Crekes, and to stay, apprehend and take al and every such person and persons, which after the publication of this their highnes Proclamation, shall attempte to pass out of this realm,( except merchants, and such as shall haue their majesties special licence ▪ or may pass over by force of the statute of richard the second, progenytor of our said sovereign Lady the queen, made in the fyftyeare of his reign. And them and every of them, to commit to safe custody, ward or prison, so to remain until further order shalbe taken by their Maiest●●s or their most honourable counsel for their delyuerye, or otherwise as the case shall require. given at our maner of Grenewych the first day of april.
