¶ A Proclamation for the speedy payment of the queens Rents, tenths, and other dueties. ELIZABETH Dei gratia Angliae, Franciae & Hiberniae Regina, fidei defensor, &c. Maiori & Vicecomit. civitatis London Salutem. Praecipimus vobis, quod statim visis praesentibus in singulis locis infra civitatem praedictam, tam infra libertates, quam extra, ubi magis expedire videritis ex parte nostra publicas Proclamationes fieri fac. in haec verba. THe queens majesty meaning to use no extremity towards her Tenants, although in some part shee might vpon occasion already given, hath thought meet to give knowledge to all her farmers and Tenants within the city of London, which ought to haue paid their Rents, tenths, and other dueties at michaelmas last, or at the furthest before this time vpon sundry great pains by the order of her laws, and haue not, that they shall make payment to the collector, or receiver general of the said city, or into the receipt of her Exchequer, within twelve dayes after this Proclamation. And if any person shall herein make default, at this time, or hereafter, her majesty must give order to extend the tenor of her laws therefore provided as reason is. ¶ God save the queen.
