Be it known that between the most xpenn Prince the king of France aforesaid. and the most noble Prince the King of England his most dear cousin true entire and perfect amity is covenanted and concluded inviolably tendure from the date of these presents during their both lives. So that as long as they live/ were battles & hostilitees betwixt them/ their realms countries and subjects alway shall cease and with benevolence and frendlihode they shall receive & entrete themself & their subjects ¶ Item to thinviolable observance of the said amity betwixt the said princes it is promised cowenaunted accorded and concluded that their shallbe contracted and had a marriage between the right noble Prince Charles the son of the said most xp̄en king of France. and the most benign princess my lady Elizabeth daughter of the saide most victorious king of England when that they shall come to years of marriage.
