May 11. 1647.  
Orders set down by the Court of Lord Major and Aldermen of the City of London, Concerning the Rates of Carriages with cars within this City and the Liberties thereof, to continue until further Order be taken in that behalf.  
WHereas there is, and hath been often complaint made by Merchants and other Citizens, of the excessive rates demanded and received by Carrmen, far exceeding such prices as have been set down for Carriages within this City; upon due consideration had as well of former times, as of the times present, wherein the prices of things are risen and enhanced beyond the rates afforded in times past: It is ordered by this Court, That all Carrmen trading with cars within this City and Liberties, shall not demand for every Carriage or Load of the Commodities hereafter mentioned, but after the Rates following. Viz.  
I IMprimis, From any the wharves between the Tower and London bridge, to Towerstreet, Gracechurchstreet, Fanchurchstreet, Bishopsgate-street within, Cornhill, and places of like distance up the Hill with— xviijc. weight, not exceeding xxiijc. weight.  
In which may be included, 
 II. puncheons of Prunes, ii. bales of Macher, xx. barrels of Figs, ii. fat's of Fustians, v. ordinary saeks of Cotton wools of Smyrna, and iij.. extraordinary; as bags of Cyprus wool, butts of currants, great butts of oils, iij.. chests of Sugars, eight. bags of alums, i. laste of Flax, i. laste of hemp, and other goods of the like kind and weights, for every Load— xvid. 
 And for Seacoals the Load— x  
● Item, From any the wharves aforesaid, To 
 Broadstreet, Lothbury, Old-jury, Bassishaw, Colemanstreet, Iremongerlane, St. Lawrence lane, Milkstreet, Aldermanburic, Cheapside, Woodstreet, Fridaystreet, Breadstreet, and places of the like distance, for the like weight of— xviijc. not exceeding— xxiijc. 
 For the goods aforesaid, and others of the like kind for every load— xviijd.  
5 Item, From any of the wharves aforesaid, To 
 Broadstreet, Lothbury, Old-jury, Bassishaw, Colemanstreet, Iremongerlane, St. Lawrence lane, Milkstreet, Aldermanburic, Cheapside, Woodstreet, Fridaystreet, Breadstreet, and places of the like distance, for any of the said goods of the same quantity and weight, for every load— xvid.  
6 Item, From any of the wharves aforesaid, To 
 Towerstreet, Gra●echurchstreet, Fanchurch-street, Bishopsgate●treet within, Cornhill, and other places of like distanc● up the hill with— viijc. weight, not exceeding— xiiijc. weight; In which may be included all butts and pipes of Wi●e, packs of Canvas, ii. hogsheads, or iij.. trees, a fat of Fustians, and all other goods of ●ike bulk and weight, for every load— xijd.  
And from any the wharves aforesaid, To 
 Broadstreet, Lot●bury, Old-jury, Bassishaw, Colemanstreet, Ir●mongerlane, St. Lawrence lane, Milkstreet, Aldermanburic, Cheapside, Woodstreet, Fri●aystreet, Breadstreet, and other places of ke distance, for any other goods of l●ke load and weight for every load— xiiijd.
