Die Sabbati 28. Ianua: 1642. AN ORDER Made by the Commons assembled in Parliament, Concerning the Rate of coals. IT is this day Ordered by the Commons House of Parliament, That it be referred to the Lord Major to consider what rate is fit to be set upon Newcastle coals both within his jurisdiction and without, and to present a certificate of the Rate to the House, that it may be considered of, and confirmed by both Houses; And that in the mean time the woodmongers and all other retailers of coals, shall not sell any Newcastle coals at above two and twenty shillings the cauldron at the wharf, And that the wharfingers shall not exceed the usual Rate for carrying of coals.
