LONDON, Printed, by William Dugard, and Henry Hills, Printers to His Highness the Lord Protector. 1654. blazon of the Commonwealth AN ORDINANCE FOR THE GIVING LIBERTY For the Carrying of Millstones, Timber, Stone, etc. BEt it Ordained by His Highness the Lord Protector, by and with the advice and consent of His Council, That it shall and may be lawful to and for any person or persons other than common Carriers, to make use of any greater number of Horses or Oxen, for the Draught of Millstones, Timber, Stone, or other heavy carriage than are limited or appointed by the late Ordinance, Entitled, An Ordinance for the better amending and keeping in repair the Common Highways within this Nation, for and during the space of four Months in every year; That is to say, The months of May, June, July and August, and not otherwise; The said Ordinance or any other thing to the contrary in any wise notwithstanding.
