blazon or coat of arms An Additional ARTICLE TO THE Laws of War and Ordinances of the Sea. THat all Mariners and others employed, or which have been employed in the Service of this Commonwealth in their Fleets, or otherwise at Sea, shall after the time of their respective Discharges, demean themselves with all duty and respect to the public Peace: And if any person who hath been, is or shall be so employed, hath committed or abetted, or shall commit or abet any Mutinous or Seditious act, whereby the peace of this Commonwealth may be, or hath been endangered; Every such person shall be proceeded against, and suffer pains of Death, or otherwise, in the same sort and manner, as by the Laws of War and Ordinances of the Sea already established, he might have been proceeded against for any act of that nature, in case of being in actual Service. Provided, That every person comprised within this Article, be proceeded against within Three months after the Offence committed, and not otherwise. Friday the Twenty eighth of October, 1653.
