Resolved by the Parliament, THat Tuesday the Twelfth of April, One thousand six hundred fifty three, be set apart for a day of public Thanksgiving to the Lord throughout the whole Commonwealth, for the great and seasonable Victory vouchsafed to the Navy of this Commonwealth, upon the late Engagement with the Dutch Fleet, on the Eighteenth, Nineteenth and Twentieth days of February last. Tuesday the Nine and twentieth of March, 1653. ORdered by the Parliament, That the Order appointing the Twelfth of April, One thousand six hundred fifty three, a Day of public Thanksgiving, be forthwith Printed and Published; And that it be referred to the council of State to cause the same to be forthwith sent into the respective counties within this Commonwealth, to be observed accordingly.
