Die Veneris, 21 April. 1648. AN ORDER OF The COMMONS assembled in Parliament, Enabling the Visitors of OXFORD To displace such Fellows, and other Officers and Members of colleges; as shall contemn the Authority of Parliament. ORdered by the Commons assembled in Parliament, That in regard of the late Contempt of Fellows, Officers and Members of colleges in Oxford to the Authority of Parliament, The Visitors do send a new Summons for all Fellows, Officers and Members of the several colleges and Halls; And if they do not appear, or appearing shall not submit to the Authority of Parliament in the Visitation, That then the Visitors shall have power to suspend for the present, and to certify the same to the Committee of Lords and Commons for Reformation of the University of Oxon; who upon the Certificate thereof, shall have power to remove and deprive them from their places in the respective colleges and Halls, and to expel them from the University; And upon Certificate thereof from this Committee, the Heads of Houses in their respective colleges and Halls, with the Visitors, shall put others in their places. Ordered, That this Order be forthwith printed; And that the Visitors of the University of Oxon, do forthwith publish the said Order in the said University of Oxford. H: Elsing, Cler. Parl. D. Com.
