Salvation in Election is first, And that love lasts till we turn to dust. There is none elected but in JESUS, Who tormented was to ease us. Christ in the humanne nature paid To God, our ransom for our aid. None have part in Christ, and electing love, But in time are called from Heaven above: From sin to grace, from dark to light, Death, Hell, and condemnation quiter; Which Adam by his woeful fall Did bring upon us one and all, Through Satan's malice and delusion, The fruits of sin by his intrusion. Though man deserve most just to die, And that for sin eternally, But that the glorious Gospel say, To God for mercy we may pray, And he speaks peace to the restless mind, Giving full assurance, he is so kind, By his Spirit, which conscience pacify, Witnessing the truth, and it is no lye. God loves truth in the inward part, He will not despise the broken heart. God calls us to repentance true, Reformation, and obedience new, Godly sorrow change the mind, At conversion grace we find: Delight in God's Law in the inner-man, Studying to pleas the Lord all we can. A saving call works faith in all, Which justifies both great and small, With perfect righteousness in God's account, To pardon of sin it doth amount: Faith is not true unless it run a race Full of holinesse, sanctity, works of grace, With perseverance to the end, A good life spent will be our friend. Though works save none by strength of merit, Yet works in Faith shall sure inherit, Glory promised to the just, Whereto Believers put their trust, And joy in hope of glorious grace, When Saints shall see God face to face: Which heavenly vision is full sure, Eternally for to endure, After blessed dying in the Lord The dead in Christ are raised abroad, And come to judgement, where shall be My blessed Saviour unto me. Let godly people know their state, And prise it at a higher rate, With hallelujahs full of praise To God, so good to us in all his ways. Verses made by a Maid under 14. WIth God the Lord would I could walk, Then should I not tormented be; But I should live in quietness, And he should be glorified by me. In Christ is rest as I shall find, If I upon him set my mind, For he shows mercy unto all, Therefore upon him will I call. O mercy Lord, mercy to me, That Christ my dwelling place may be: Then shall my soul ravished be, And sing Hallelujahs unto thee. Christ is a pattern of patience pure, And those that trust in him are sure; Though Satan seeks souls to devour, Yet Christ is of Almighty power. Then let us all on him depend, That we may make a Godly end: That then our souls to heaven may fly, Where we shall live, and never die. In this world is but filthy dross, Which at the last will prove a cross; If we in it do live in sin, It had better we had never been. Come quickly, Lord, and do not stay, That I from sin may turn away; For sin is loathsome unto thee, Lord grant it may be the same to me. Lord, teach us all to put on Christ, Who hath bought us at so dear a price; For where thou puttest that garment on, It makes them glorious like the Sun. Out of this world I soon must go, Therefore in grace teach me to grow, That at the last I fit may be To dwell in Heaven still with Thee. Oh Lord, let me in Christ be found, Let heaven in my heart abound; That death may not a terror be, But as a welcome guest to me. Oh Lord of Hosts, sand down thy Spirit, That I thy precious Son inherit. For in thee is everlasting rest, And righteousness doth please thee best. Teach me, O Lord, while I am young, Out of the Divels claws to run; Least he be grafted in my heart, And from me will not soon depart. Now let us look what things are done, And consider how fast our glass doth run; Time calls for grace, but we have none, Therefore from sin let us return. Let us pray to God with all our hearts, And he will surely take our parts: Here we may see he's full of love, And love proceedeth from above. Oh let us now return from sin, Which hath so much our enemy been; And unto Hell it will us bring, If wee will not obey our King. GOD is the King of Kings, I say, And will preserve us night and day, If we will live in fear of him, And suddenly forsake our sin. The devil tempts and tries his skill, And full of sin our hearts doth fill: But yet there is a God above, That works by meekness peace and love. This world is passing quiter away, Therefore we cannot look to stay: Let us solemnly consider it, Least we fall down into the pit. This Pit which I do you of tell, It is a cursed place called Hell: Oh have a care you ne're come there, Labour for heaven to preare. Of Christ Crucified. FRail man, though death for sin thy stipend be, The second Adam hath redeemed thee; conquered death and Hell, be not dismayed, Christ trode alone the winepress, none of Adam's sons did aid; On him our sins, most heavy things, were by the Father laid. His head with thorns, himself with scorns, was pricked and pierced deep; When he for us hung on the cross, and laid down his life for his sheep. Death could not hold this Lion bold Of Judah's tribe, when slain; His body is meat, for us to eat, his death our life and gain. Death, where is thy sting? Christ is our King, Satan is trodden down. The Law is fulfilled, our sins are killed, and Christ do wear the crown. Now in our God, there is no rod our backs, our bones to break: His face doth shine, his love is divine, it from our hearts we speak. The sweet savour of his favour, our heads and hearts have filled; To him we live, who Christ did give, our comforts up to build. In Adam's fall lost were wee all, but now in Christ we reign; His love was great, in him complete we are and shall remain. Let's give glory to God on high with all the might we can; On earth is peace, our joys increase, good will is unto man. Him we will love, who sits above at Jehovah's own right hand, To intercede for all that need, by sea, and eke by land. His grace us shall preserve from fall, till unto him we come; Where we shall sit, in glory great, with Saints in his kingdom: To praise his Name, most worthy famed, to all eternity; Whom we desire, with hearts on fire, to enjoy most perfectly. Come, Lord, 'tis thee we long to see, our life, our crown, our rest, Our all; and they that thee obey, shall evermore be blessed. To Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, all glory be therefore; As in the beginning was, is now, and shall be evermore. FINIS.
