A PROCLAMATION, Requiring the absent Members to attend the Parliament. Edinburgh, the twenty first day of June, 1689. THe King and Queens Majesties Taking to Their Consideration, that by the Laws of this Kingdom, all Noblemen, and Commissioners for Shires and Burghs, are holden to give their presence in Parliament, and to attend the Diets thereof, under certain Pains and Penalties; Therefore Their Majesties, with the Advice and Consent of the Estates of Parliament, Do Ordain, and Require, all Noblemen, and Commissioners for Shires and Burghs, who are absent from the Parliament, to Repair to this Town, betwixt and the third Day of July next, and to attend the Diets of Parliament, and not to be absent therefrom, without leave from His Majesties Commissioner; Certifying such as shall not give Obedience, that they shall not only be Imprisoned, and liable to the Fines Imposed by Acts of Parliament, for Absence; but they shall also be holden as Disaffected to the Government, and proceeded against accordingly: And grants warrant to heralds, Macers, or pursuivants, to pass to the Mercat-Cross of Edinburgh, and to make Publication hereof, that none may pretend Ignorance.
