I ⁷ R 〈◊〉 〈◊〉 〈◊〉 〈◊〉 〈◊〉 〈◊〉 royal blazon or coat of arms ACT, For Inbringing of His Majesty's Excise and Supply. Edinburgh, the twenty fourth day of December, 1688. THE Lords of His Majesty's Privy Council, Taking to their Consideration, that several Persons, Collectors, and others of His Majesty's Excise and Supply within this Kingdom, and these due and liable in payment thereof, do refuse and delay to make payment of the same, which i● this Juncture of Time, may be of great prejudice to the Support of the Protestant Religion, His Majesty's Service, and the Peace and Security of the Kingdom; Do therefore hereby Require and Command, all Persons whatsomever, due and liable in payment of the said Excise and Supply, forthwith to make payment to their respective Collectors, of what is due and liable to be paid by them, for any Terms bygone, conform to Law; And the said's respective Collectors, to make payment thereof to His Majesty's General-Receivers, for the ends abovementioned; and that under the Certificati●● of Quartering, and other Legal Diligence, to be immediately used therefore, conform to Acts of Parliament: And Ordains the Commissioners of Excise and Supply, to be concurring and assisting to such Parties, as shall be sent by the General-Receivers, to the said's Collectors, to Quarter for the same, as they will be answerable. And Ordain these Present to be Published at the Mercat-Cross of Edinburgh, and all the other Mercat-Crosses of the Head burgh's of this Kingdom, and other places needful, that none pretend ignorance.
