Edinburgh, the 25. of October, 1688. THe Lords of His Majesty's Privy Council being informed, that some persons who are pitched upon by the Leaders and Outreikers of the Foot-Militia, refuse the said Service, upon the ordinary and accustomed Pay; Do hereby Require ●nd Authorise, the Justices of Peace, Commissioners of Assessment, or the Militia, to Seize upon any person so Refusing, and to Imprison them in the next convenient Prison, and to Fine them in the Sum of Twenty pounds' Scots, and to inflict upon them such Corporal Punishments as they shall think fit, by Whipping or otherways.
