Edinburgh, The Sixteenth Day of April, One Thousand six hundred ninety four. THe Lords of Their Majesty's Privy Council Considering, that they have lately Emitted a Proclamation, in pursuance of the Act of Parliament, One thousand six hundred ninety three, Anent the taking of Horses and Arms from such as shall not Swear the Oath of Alledgance, and Subscribe the Assurance, Have thought fit at this time, and until further Order, to Regulat the Execution of the said Proclamation as follows, viz. That the same is not to be put in Execution against any Tennent or Labourer, for his having, or keeping of Draught Horse, Plough-Horse, or any other sort of Labouring-Horse pertaining to himself as Owner, though above the value mentioned in the Act of Parliament; or for having of Arms beyond the Allowance of the said Act: And this Ordinance of Council, all Sheriffs and their Deputs, Bailies of Regality, and other Officers of the Law, mentioned in the said Proclamation, are hereby Required to observe; until further Order, as they will be answerable. And allows their Presents to be Printed, and Ordains Printed Copies thereof to be Transmitted by Their Majesty's Solicitor, to the Sheriffs and other Magistrates foresaids.
