WILLIAM and MARY by the Grace of God, King and Queen of Great Britain, France and Ireland, Defenders of the Faith, To 〈…〉 Macers of Our Privy Council, or Messengers at Arms. Our Sheriffs in that part, Conjunctly and Severally, Specially Constitute, Greeting: Forasmuch as, We by Our Proclamation of the Date the Twenty second Day of December last by past, with Advice of the Lords of Our Privy Council, did Require and Command, the heritors and others Mentioned in the Seventh Act of the 4th Session of this Our Current Parliament, To be ready to deliver their Proportions of Men for the Levy Appointed by the said Act to the Officers Commissioned by Us, and that upon Four days Warning at such Places in the several Shires and Stewartries of this Kingdom, as the Lords of Our Privy Council should by their Orders appoint; Therefore, We with Advice of the Lords of Our Privy Council, Require and Command the heritors and others, liable to furnish any Persons of Men to the said Levy appointed by the Act foresaid, within the Shires, Burghs, or Stewartries after-mentioned, to have their several Proportions of the whole Levies Ready and in good Case to be Delivered, and to Deliver the same to the Officers, who shall be sent by the Order of Our Privy Council; Or of Sir Thomas Livingston Commander in Chief of Our Forces within this Kingdom to Receive them at the Head-Bughs of the respective Shires underwritten, viz. The Town and Shire of Edinburgh; The Shire of Haddingtoun, the Shires of Berwick, Selkirk, pebbles, Lanerk, Linlithgow, Fife and Kinross, and the Shire of Perth upon the Twenty and second day of March current; and the Shires of Roxburgh, Stirling, and Clackmannan upon the Twenty and third day of the said month: And We with Advice foresaid, Require the said Sir Thomas Livingston immediately to dispatch and sand the Officers of the Two Regiments of the New Levies, who are to remain within this Kingdom to the Shires and Bounds before and after-mentioned, to Receive at the Head-Burghs thereof, the Proportions mentioned in the Act of Parliament, wherein the said respective Shires and Burghs are liable, and to bring them to such places of Randezvouz, as the said Commander in Chief shall appoint, vi●. The Officers of colonel Sir William Douglass his Regiment to the Town of Edinburgh, Lieth and Cannongate for an Hundred and nineteen Men; To the Shire of Edinburgh for an hundred and nineteen Men, to the Shire of Berwick for an hundred and nineteen Men, to the Shire of Haddingtoun for an hundred and nineteen Men, to the Shires of Roxburgh and Selkirk for an hundred and ninety eight Men, to the Shires of Stirling and Clackmannan for an hundred Men, extending all the Men to be received and brought together by the Officers of colonel Sir William Douglass his Regiment to Seven hundred and seventy four Men. Item the Officers of colonel Robert c his Regiment to Linlithgow for Fifty Men, to Lanerk for an hundred and forty nine Men, to Fife and Kinross for two hundred and thirty eight Men, and to Perth for two hundred and thirty eight Men, extending all the Men to be received and brought together by the Officers of colonel Robert c his Regiment to Seven hundred and seventy five Men; And that the heritors and others liable in the Out-reik of the said Levy proceed therein comform to the Printed Instructions already Emitted and Published thereanent: And We with Advice foresaid, Authorize, and appoint the several Lords of Our Privy Council after-named to Judge and Determine upon all Differences and Debates that may arise betwixt the Commissioners of the several Shires and Officers, anent the Sufficiency or Insufficiency of the Men to be Out-reiked for this present Levy, viz. The Earl of Annandale for the Shires of Roxburgh and Selkirk, the Lord Polwarth for the Shire of Berwick, the Lord Viscount of Tarbat and Sir John Lauder of Fountainhall for the Shire of Edinburgh, the Lord Beilhaven and Sir Robert Sinclar of Stevenstoun for the Shire of Haddingtoun, Sir John Lauder of Hattoun for the Shire of pebbles, the Earl of Linlithgow for the Shire of Linlithgow, the Earls of Southerland and Forfar for the Town of Edinburgh, Leith and Cannongate, Mr. Francis Montgomery, and Sir John Maxwell for the Shire of Lanerk, the Earl of Melvill, Lord Privy-Seal and the Earl of leaven for the Shires of Fife and Kinross, the Earl of Linlithgow for the Shires of Stirling and Clackmannan, the Earl of Strathmore for the Shire of Perth; And to the effect Our Pleasure may be known in the premises, OUR WILL IS HEREFORE, And We Charge you straitly and Command, that Incontinent these Our Letters seen, ye pass to the Mercat across of Edinburgh, and Mercat-Crosses of the Head-Burghs of the several Shires Above-mentioned, and other Places needful, and there in Our Name and Authority by open Proclamation, make Publication of the premises, that none may pretend Ignorance; and Ordains these Presents to be Printed.
