PROPOSALS For PRINTING of Holwell's Book of dialing. WHereas John Holwell, Teacher of the mathematics; having in some Pieces he hath Written, signified his Intentions to Publish a small Piece of dialing now ready for the Press, which he intends to be, A Key to the whole Art of Arithmetical dialing: In Two Parts: The First showing how to make all manner of Regular, and how to reduce all Irregular Dials, to Regular forms, by means of a new Latitude and new Declination, with the several Projections, showing where all the requisites lie in the sphere. The Second Part, showing the placing of all the Furniture on all manner of Dials how●●●r Situated, and that Arithmetically, giving their reasons Astronomically. Whereunto will be Annexed, The Tables of Altitude of the Sun, for the beginning of his Entrance in each Sign, and for each hour of the day, for all Latitudes, from one Degree to ninety, with Tables of Azimuth to each Latitude, and many other Tables, very useful in the Art of Shadows, with their use in making all Conceits in dialing; too large to be repeated; as also the Description and making of the Conceited Dials that stood on the Pyramid in His Majesty's Privy Garden that was broken down of late Years: All which he doth Propose to bring into a Book in Quarto, containing forty Sheets, besides Copper Cuts, which will be forty, if not more, all the Projections and Dials being such. And because this Book hath been very much enquired after, and the Booksellers care not to buy a Copy that is so chargeable, by which means an Author hath but small Encouragement to part with his Labour, that hath been so great for some Years, in framing of Tables that never were before made public in the World, except he might have some advantageous consideration; therefore the Author, that he may be the better enabled to Print the same himself, hath thought good to make these Proposals following, viz.
