commissioners for our sovereign lord king Henry the .viii. that now is/ by his lettres patents assigned name and deputed for thorderynge and assessing of eruey {per}sone dwelling/ abiding/ or hauyngt their inoost resort to/ or in the said city of London chargeable and Contributory to a subsidy granted to our said sovereign lord/ by authority of his parliament last holden at Westin to A. B. 〈◇〉 greeting.¶ we on the behalf of our said sovereign lord the king/ and by authority of his said lettres patent● and Accestraytly charge& command you and every of you {per}sonally to appear before us/ or before us/ and the other commissioners in the said lettres patents assigned or before .vi. viiij. iij. or ij. of us at 〈◇〉 the 〈◇〉 day of this present month of Aprell/ at the hour of .viii. of the clock before noon. And there certify us by writing/ the names and surnames of all and singular {per}sones men and women of thage of .xv. yeres or above being within the said ward/ and dwelling/ or abiding or having his or her most resort within the same parish as well within liberties/ Sayntwaryes/ as in al other places with in the said parish and of the said ward.¶ And also of all men and women under the said age of .xv. yeres having/ or taking profits of any lands/ tenement/ rents/ fees/ annuytes/ offyres/ or Corodyes/ of the yearly value of .xx. s. or above/ or having/ goods or cattles/ movable/ coin/ plate/ stock of merchandise on thyssyde the see/ or beyond the see/ to the value of. xl.s. or above their debts except/ the names of women having husbands beggars/ and every {per}sone living only by alms of charity only excepted.¶ And over this that ye certify by your said writing/ the yearly value of the said profits at the uttermost/ And the value of the said goods& cattles movable at the uttermost of every {per}sone/ whose name ye shall certefy before us at the said day and place/ And which of theyin ben born within the kyng{is} obeisance/ and which of theyin ben alyens born out of the kings obeisance according to the tenor and effect of the articles hereafter specyfyed and declared indifferently as nigh as ve by your discressions wysooms/ and after your conscience by way of search demanding of questions or otherwise ye can or may. first ye shall certify by your said writing in one article by itself the na●es of every parson being within the said ward/ and dwelling/ or having his/ or her most resort to/ or in the laid parish/ And having yearly profits of Land/ tesites/ fees/ annuytes/ rent/ ●eruyc/ offyc/ or Corodyes to his or her own use to the yearly value of. xx.s. or above in any place or places within this realm/ and to what yearly value the same profits of lands and tenements/ and other( the premisses) extend unto/ at the uttermost/ So that the said {per}sone haue not goods and cattles movable/ as beforesaid within this realm of england/ and in the parties be yonde the see/ that amount and extend above the said yearly value/ at the uttermost of the said profits of the same lands/ tenements/ annuytes/ offices/ and Corodyes/ For then in that case the parson shalbe cessed by the value of the said goods/ and cattles/ movable/ which is best for the king/ And not by& after the yearly value of the said profits of his lands/ and other( the premisses) beforesaid nor shalbe cessed for both/ but for one the which shal be best for the king/ women having husbands only except. ¶ Also in the same article to certyfy the names and surnames of every parson man and woman of thage of .xv. yeres or above/ And with which of the said {per}sones they ben in household/ and not having lands/ tenements/ services/ annuytes/ fees/ offices, or Corodyes to his or their proper use to the yearly value of .xx. s. nor goods and cattles movable to the value of .xl. s. nor be ynge a beggar/ nor living only by alms/ of charity/ nor woman having husband/ ne taking wages or profits for wages by year to the value of .xx. s. And also the names and surnames of every {per}sone taking wages or profits for wages by yece to the value of .xx. s. or above/ and then to what value every such {per}s●… ●… keth by year in wages or profits for wages at the uttermost, and with which of the said {per}sones they ben dwelling or abiding in husholde/ and that you certyfy by your said writing/ which of the said parsons be born under the kings obeisance/ and which be born out of the kings obeisance as well the masters as all the other abovesaid. xl. s. or above in any place or places within this realm of england or in the {per}●… es of beyond the see/ And to what value the same goods movable extend and amount unto at the uttermost/ so that the same {per}sone haue not profits/ of lands/ tenements/ rents/ services/ fees/ annuytes/ offices/ or Corodyes to his or their own use extendynge or Amoun tynge in yearly value above the value that the same goods and cattles movable of the same {per}sone amounteth to at the uttermost/ For then in that case the {per}sone shalbe cessed by and after the yearly value of the said profits of his lands/ tenements/ annuytes/ fees/ and offices/ which shalbe best for the king& not by and after the value of the same goods and cattles/ nor shalbe cessed for both/ but for one the which shalbe beste for the king women having husbands only except. ¶ Also in the same article to certyfy the names& surnames of every {per}sone man or woman of thage of .xv. yeres or above and not having profits of lands/ tenemend/ rents/ seruyc/ annuytes/ fees/ offices/ or Corodyes to his or their proper use to the yearly value of .xx. s. nor goods/ and cattles as beforesaid movable to the value of. xl.s. nor being a beggar/ nor living only by alms of charity nor taking wages or profits for wages by year to the value of .xx s. nor woman having husband.
