HEreafter followeth the great and miraculous virtue and operation of, the Pietra Celesta, or celestial ston, and the efficacy thereof. It hath been called by the ancient Philosophers Alramento, Sutorio Calchanto or Stilhatitio, and in the arabic Language Exauraton, and by the Turks who live in those parts, Gustacii, by the Spaniards Caparosa, and by the French Couperoso, the which ston the ancients held in great request, and used the same fota Remedy against the following Maladies. FIrst of all, this ston is a certain and special Remedy for a Cure of the Eyes, especially for those that are weak sighted, and whose sight begins to diminish, and are constrainced to use Spectacles; it clears the Eyes, and purifieth on such manner, that it will not be necessary for young nor old for to use Spectacles, it also helpeth the blanch being touched therewith. This ston being put into half a spoon full of Rose-water, or fresh fountain water, let it remain therein so long time as you may say the Lords Prayer twice, afterwards take it out again, and dry it well. This ston remaines always good, it takes away the inflammation of the Eyes hot and could Cataricks, washing them twice or thrice therewith, it dissipates the influxions of the Eyes and preserves hem clear. Secondly, it heals all diseases of the mouth, as the scurvy, Pip, and roughness of the Gums, and the like: Put the ston into half a glass of Water of the best fountain Water, and set it remain therein so long as you may say the Lords Prayer twice, then take it out again and dry it very well. This ston will remain always good, and wash your mouth with th s Water very well every morning and Evening, and you having used this two or three times, it will heal the same. Thirdly, it heals all evils or accidents of the Neck or Throat which are inwardly, as the holes in the Neck or Throat or if the Amons of the Throat, are, swollen; also other heats will be presently healed with this Water being lukewarm, four or five times gargled up in your throat Morning and Evening, and thereby it will be totally cured: And if you do but onely dip a little bit of cotton into this water, and hold the same a little in your nostrils, it purifieth the Heat, an●●… ssipates the Defluctions. Fourthly, it heals all sorts of Scabe and Ulcers, and purifieth the Cathars or Defluctions which proceed from the Liver; it cleanseth and takes away all salt Defluctions which grow here and there within a man; as the dead Fire, and all other evils and corruptions that are a●y wa●es dead or perished. And if that you wash those Accidents, Scabs, and Ulcers, three or six times with this warm Water, it doth not onely take away the old flesh, and that which is perished, but causeth New Flesh for to grow in the place, and that in a short space. It is a most assured Remedy for cattle against all Accidents and evils whatsoever: yet nevertheless you must let it stand a little longer in the Water; and for the Eyes, you must let it drop in at the two Corners, for fear of rubbing. This Noble, Blew, and turkey ston, in regard that it is not common in Germany, and also less known to poor people, the Reason is that the same comes out of turkey. It is very nigh three yeares that I have sold the same in the Emperours Dominions, and in the imperial City of Vienna it hath been praised and esteemed of generally by the Rich and Poor, as well there, as in all the other Cities; wherefore it may very well be called, The poor Mans Treasure. Also it taketh away the sent of Tobacco in the mouth, onely once sucking it, and makes it 〈◇〉 sweet as Sugar. These Stones are of a Mineral, and Nature of the Earth, and do grow in turkey towards the Levant, or the East. And are to be sold by JOHN ARMENIO, a Persian, in the Long Walk, between Christ-Church and Little Bartholomewes, 1658.
