HIS Inventions of Steel Trusses and Instruments, Medicines and Methods to cure Ruptures, faults of the Testicles, and falling out of the Fundament or Womb, and make the Weak strong and Crooked straight.— Most of these might easily be cured and the danger prevented with a 20th part of the trouble and charge occasioned only by delay, breeding Dangers, Fits or Death, for want of fit Remedies: The following Advice, if understood and followed, will be much more for the public Good than mine.— 1st, My Anodine Spirit, one sort for Ruptures, &c.[ as they are ignorantly called] used outward on the part, as much as can be born, or soak in could as it is,— and so use the Spirit for the Weak and Crooked, 2s. 6d. each Bottle: These and the 2 sorts of Powders I give to take inward to cleanse and strengthen, are of great use taken as directed in the Printed Bill given with them, cures the phthisic, Coughs, kills Worms, and helping most inward or outward Pains in a few Minutes.— 2d, There is no such thing as rapture or broken Belly possible to any, though all the Guts come down, which is only two Words for one thing and both false, which will be easily granted by Doctors and Surgeons( as for Old Women and Quacks, their Ignorance is my Interest) if it be considered, that the Bowels, Cawl, or Wind, always descend by the Stones, thro' the Perforations, or natural Holes, viz. 〈…〉
