Blagrave's Advertisement of his Spirits of Scurvey-grass. THese Excellent Spirits of Scurvey-grass both plain and purging, have sufficiently commended themselves in their several Operations, by meeting with general acceptation from all sorts of persons, both for preventing and curing the scurvy and several other Distempers: They are so safe Medicines, that they may be taken all the year without confinement to house or diet. A few drops of the Plain spirit is very beneficial, taken in E●●om, Tunbridge, Barnet, or Dulwich Waters; for it not only takes off the crudities, but furthers them to perform their desired effects. Taking once or twice a week of my Golden spirit, carries off all crude phlegmatic humours, that may be caused by the Waters, and fortifies the Vitals and Stomach. ☞ Observe, Use these Spirits( but not counterfeits) according to my directions, before the Teeth and Gums be decayed; you shall not be subject to rotten, yellow, stinking Teeth or toothache, putrefied Gums, stinking Breath, or loose Teeth, but they preserve the Teeth white and sound, till old age decays the whole structure of the Body if loose fasten them. These Spirits being stopped close, are subject to no decay. VERTUES. THey are beneficial for all persons that travail by Sea or Land, both for preventing and curing the scurvy, with its pains and spots; and also all pains that are caused by great Colds, surfeits, Foulness of Blood. They cure all sorts of Itches, Scabs, or Breakings out. Will effectually cure the dropsy, give speedy ease in the Wind colic, and brings away the Gravel in the Kidneys. Open Obstructions, and cure the Green Sickness, with the pains in the Stomach, and cause a fresh ruddy complexion. Mightily cleanse the Stomach of could phlegmatic Humors, thin Tough Phlegm, and give Breath to the greatest Stoppages; help Digestion, and recovers a Lost Appetite: For an Unsavoury Breath they are the quickest and best Remedies in the World: They not only procure a Sweet Breath, but carry away all Fumes which cause an ungrateful scent. They help the Kings Evil and dispose Old Ulcers and Sores to a speedy Healing. Evacuate could phlegmatic Humors both from Liver and Spleen, wasteing the Swellings and Hardness thereof. Cure violent surfeits, if timely taken: Kill Worms in young and old. You shall receive full Directions for each Spirit with the Bottles. Price 1 s. each Bottle. House in New-Prison Walk. AT these places may be had that excellent and well-known Spirit of Pepper, being approved by all that have made trial, to excel most Medicines in these following Diseases: For strengthening a weak Stomach after vomiting, and helping Digestion; Cures gripping of the Guts, if caused by Wind; alleys the greatest Thirst in favours: Cures Violent Pains in the Stomach, and for a Windy Stomach no better Medicine. It causes the Wind to pass downward. Excellent for Nurses that give suck, to take off the windiness of the Milk. It preserves people from favours and Surfeits. Very good against the colic and Strangury. It helpeth almost any could Diseases in the Nerves. A few Drops being taken, ●●●ediately causes Sweat. Price 1 s. a Bottle.
