Duty 1565639 02 01 The Medium for One Year is 15030135⅔ 313127 16 05 If two Thirds of all Imported be again Exported, the remainder to be consumed at home is 5010045 which comes to 104375 18 09½ If 1/ 10th be smuggled that pays no Duty, the Duty comes to   31312 15 07½ If the Damage allowed that pays no Duty be consumed with the sound, it hinders the consumption of so much as would, which if but 1/ 14th part, that is 10735811/ 14 and comes to 22366 05 05 If the Stalks are ⅕ of what is consumed, they hinder the consumption of so much, that is 1002009 and comes to 20875 03 09 The burning the Stalks, will occasion the Importation of l⅓ more of Tobacco in Stalk than they amounted to, which for 1002009 is 1202410, which makes in money 25050 l. 4 s. 2 d. and increases the Revenue 1202410 4175 00 09 But if the Damage be shipped off by Certificate, and draw back 4½ d. per Pound, there will be defrauded 4½ d. for every such Pound, the prevention whereof will improve the Revenue 9/ 10th of 22366 l. 5 s. 5 d. which comes to   20130 04 06 If the Damage be relanded, and shipped off again, as is too frequently practised, it draws the same Sum Toties Quoties     If the Stalks are spun into Roll, and Exported to draw back by Debenture, the loss to the Revenue thereby comes to 9/10ths   22545 00 00 Besides, the Advantage which will be gained by Importing in Hogsheads, Casks and Bundles, as proposed   50000 And what will be saved by the Draw-back from Guernsey, &c.   25000   Total 196404 l. 10 s. ½ This Calculation is only for the Port of LONDON.
