arms of Charles II HO●I SOIT QVI MAL Y PENSE dieu ET MON DROIT By the King. A PROCLAMATION Against Numerous CONVENTICLES. CHARLES R. FOrasmuch as Information hath been given to us from several parts of the Kingdom, That those who separate themselves from the established Worship, do meet in greater numbers then formerly, to such a degree as may endanger the public Peace; with which We cannot but take notice also, how far Our known and still avowed easiness to indulge tender Consciences, is abused thereby: Wherefore by the advice of Our Privy Council, We have thought fit to issue this Our Proclamation, straitly Charging and Commanding all Our Iustices of the Peace within the limits of their several jurisdictions, where they shall find any such Meetings to be held, That they put the Laws in execution for Suppression thereof, and particularly proceed against the Preachers, according to the Statute made in the Seventeenth year of Our Reign, entitled, An Act for Restraining Non-Conformists from inhabiting in Corporations. Given at Our Court at Whitehall this 16th day of July, in the One and twentieth year of Our Reign. 1669. God Save the King. In the SAVOY, Printed by the Assigns of John Bill and Christopher Barker, Printers to the Kings most Excellent Majesty. 1669.
