INSTRUCTIONS and DIRECTIONS  
Made by the Trustees nominated in an Act of Parliament,( entitled, An Act for the Deafforestation, Sale and Improvement of the Forests; And of the Honors, Manors, Lands, &c. within the usual Limits and Perambulations of the same, heretofore belonging to the late King, Queen and Prince) to be left with the chief Officer of every Town and place where the Summons of the said Trustees have been published, for all persons to make out their respective Interests within the time limited by the said Act.  
THe said Trustees intending, according to the Trust reposed in them, as to take care that all persons may receive a competent satisfaction for their respective Interests in the premises; so especially that the Poor, living and bordering upon the said Forests, may be in a good measure provided for, out of such Proportions as the said Trustees shall allow, in lieu and satisfaction of Interests claimed: And therefore to the end that all Claims may be orderly and regularly put in and prosecuted, that so the speedy provision intended for the said Poor may not be retarded; And that all may know how to proceed, and what is expected from them, The said Trustees have thought fit, according to the said Act of Parliament, to give these Directions following:  
1. That all persons, Bodies politic or Corporate, and Inhabitants of any Township or Village, pretending Interest as aforesaid, by themselves or their sufficient Deputy and Attorney( authorised as hereafter is directed) are within Thirty days after publication of the said Summons, to enter their Appearances and Claims in Writing before the said Trustees at Worcester-house in the Strand Middlesex, which they are to expect shall be red in course as they are in time brought in, on such days as by the said Trustees shall be appointed.  
II. That if the said Trustees shall see cause to refer the said Claims to their council, Then the Maimants( or those authorised by them) are to repair to the Examiner appointed by the Trustees, and exhibit Interogatories for the examination of their Witnesses and proof of their Evidences, and then forthwith to give the Names and places of abode of such their Witnesses to the said council, to the end they may be cross-examined on the behalf of the Commonwealth, if they shall see cause.  
III. That Copies of all such Examinations are to be taken forth, and brought to the said council to draw up, and certify a Report thereupon to the said Trustees, who will take care that the same be dispatched in course with the soonest and best conveniency.  
IV. That all person and persons, and the mayor part of any Corporation, Town, hamlet or Village, pretending Interest as aforesaid, have hereby liberty, and may make and appoint under their Hands and Seals, one or more lawful Deputy or Deputies, Attorney or Attorneys, to enter and prosecute their said Claims as before is directed, and according to the said Act of Parliament in that case made and provided.
