IT is this day Ordered by the Commons assembled in Parliament, That the Inhabitants of the several Counties shall have power to assemble and gather together the best Force they can, by the directions of the Deputy-Lievtenants, Captains, and other the Officers appointed by Parliament; the which Deputy-Lievtenants, Captains, and other Officers are hereby required to give their best directions and assistance herein, either by Trained Bands or otherwise, to defend themselves and their Countries from plundering.
