VISITATION Of Love unto the Inhabitants of LONDON, Or any other place where it may come. IT being a warning more unto the many which they have had, now in this their day, by many of the true and faithful servants of the Lord with wholesome advice unto her Rulers from the highest to the lowest, to forewarn them that they no longer withstand the day of their visitation, but to turn unto the Lord before his fierce indignation break forth against them, and the day of their visitation pass over their heads which cannot be again recalled. W.G. Many have been the testimonies which have been born by the servants of the Lord, from the one spirit of truth unto thine inhabitants, of the things that pertain and belong unto the souls everlasting happiness, and many times have ye been warned and beseeched to turn from sin, and all uncleanness, unto the Lord, and large hath been the day of your visitation in which the servants of the Lord have run from time to time, and from day to day, to invite you to that principle of God in you, that beats witness for God against all that is contrary unto his spiritual appearing in the light of his Son Christ Jesus, which is broken forth in this our day, for to destroy the works of darkness and brings into the marvellous light all those that obeys and followeth its leadings, Oh therefore in the bowels of tender love unto the seed of God in you, do I warn and call unto you all to come and meet the Lord in the way of his judgements, and give up all that unto the righteous judgements of the Lord God of heaven and earth, Oh what a lamentation shall I take up for you who yet withstand the day of your visitation, Oh no longer withstand the Lord nor his messengers which he hath sent with their lives freely given up unto God to proclaim liberty to the seed thats held in captivity by the devil the Prince of the power of darkness, that ruleth in the hearts of the wicked, which seed judgeth and condemneth for all manner of sin and iniquity which by it is grieved and oppressed exceedingly; Ah if you forsake not this oppressing of this noble seed which God hath raised up in many to bear witness for him against all ungodliness whatsoever, which reacheth unto the seed in you, but ye through stubbornness gainsay it, because its mean and contemptible in your own esteem, and certainly if you abide in gainsaying and smiteing the servants of the Lord, the hand of God will turn against you, and he will bring you down to the earth with shane, and you shall perish in your gainsaying, as konrah, Dathan and Abiram did who gainsaid Moses and Aron, yea without mercy shall ye be rooted out never again to be planted, therefore ye that are in Authority to do justice, consider the grievous oppressions of the innocent and harmless, who for conscience sake suffer sore beatings and stoneings, and blood shed for the exercise of their conscience to Godward only, and for waiting upon, and worshipping of him in spirit and truth: Oh lay this to heart all ye in Authority be ye advised, and take heed unto yourselves, for of a truth the Lord is with this people which are called in scorn Quakers, and in his life and power he appears amongst them, and this assuredly know that if ye fight against the appearance of God in them, ye must never expect to prosper, but blasting will come upon you, and ye will be a hissing and by-word to Generations to come. Therefore consider and be wise and merciful if ye expect mercy of the Lord, and let his people alone in the exercise of their consciences towards the Lord, and take off the burden of oppression, and then it may be well with you, but if not then the Lord will cease to strive with you, and the day of your visitation will pass from you, and then shall sorrow of heart come upon you& leaneness of soul which now wallow in your fatness, and great shall be the cry amongst you when the day of your visitation is gone over you which cannot be again recalled. By one that fears the Lord and not man who opposeth him in his spiritual appearing, who is a witness for God against all manner of wickedness, and singly gives my testimony against all oppression, with the rest of my brethren, which testimony for God if thereunto called I can seal with my blood, who is called 〈◇〉 William Green. Thus in obedience unto the Lord and my conscience unto you all have I cleared, so whether you will hear or forbear, my peace is with the Lord, for he laid it upon me to warn you, signifying by his spirit unto me, that he with his presence and power would attend me and support me in bearing of my testimony for his name sake( and that nothing shall come unto me but what should make for his glory, and the remainder he would restrain, and innocently do I lye down in the will of the Lord, having peace with him, and unity with all that fear his name.
