THe earl of Essex and his forces advancing from Dunstable, toward Watford, met with twelve Cavaliers, which his Excellency caused to be exammined but they resisted slighting his Excellence, and dsscharged against him, having four or five hundred more Cavaliers hard at hand, which they had thought would have come on, but poor fellowes they durst not show their Faces to his excellency, as for those twelve there was 4. killed, three of them wounded, and the rest taken prisoners, all which was brought up to the Parliament to be examined, and to suffer the Law according to their deserts. news from CGLEBROOKE. ON Friday last the 4th. of November, news was brought to to the Parliament, that there was 100. Cavaliers at GREENWICH in KENT, on which relation, there was 3. Companies of Foot, and a Troope of Horse, with command to clear the s●●d town, but they were fled, but there being many ill affencted persons in the town, they were going together by the ears within themselves, but our Companies soon quieted them, and took their arms away, especially those that were fit for service, besides 7. brave Horses, and finding but three suspected persons they likewise brought them to the Parliament, who committed them to custody, till they could be examined.
