A PROCLAMATION. CHARLES PORTER, THO: CONINGESBY. WHereas by the Examinations of divers Persons We find that a Romish Priest, calling himself Father Chr●stopher brown, who has lived many Months in several Places in Their Majesties Power( and especially at the House of John Common of Godamendy, lately Executed) without being molested upon the account of his Orders or Religion has been, if not the first Contriver and Principal Director and Conductor, yet a main Abettor and Encourager of the late Barbarous Murder of many of Their Majesties Soldiers in Mallahuddert Church near this City. And whereas it appears likewise that Nathaniel Moore of Notts-Town, commonly called and known by the Name of Natty Moor, William laurence, late Servant to Bartholomew Ward of Tyrrills-Town, commonly called and known by the name of Billy laurence, Nicholas Strong of Ballicoolan, Bartholomew Clinch of Kilmartin, and Thomas Dillon Brother to Martin Dillon of Hunts-Town, are also Guilty of committing the said Barbarous murder, and that they and every of them being Conscious thereof, have withdrawn themselves from Iustice: We do therefore Authorize and Require all Officers Civil and Military, and all other Their Majesties Loving Subjects, to apprehended and Secure the Bodies of the said Christopher brown, Nathaniel or Natty Moore, William or Billy laurence, Nicholas Strong, Bartholomew Clinch and Thomas Dillon, and every or any of them, and them, every or any of them to cause to be Committed to the County Goal, where they or any of them shall be Apprehended, so as they may be brought to Iustice. And for the Encouragement of such as shall endeavour to apprehended all or any of the said Persons: We do promise in manner following. First, That such Person( not being Guilty of the said murder and Treason, or of being aiding and assisting therein) who shall apprehended and Secure the said Christopher brown, or cause him to be Apprehended or Secured, so as he may be brought to Iustice, shall have and be paid the sum of Fifty Pounds; and to such as shall apprehended and Secure the aforesaid Nathaniel Moore, William laurence, Nicholas Strong, Bartholomew Clinch and Thomas Dillon, for each and every of them the sum of Ten Pounds, to be paid them out of Their Majesties Treasury; and to such other Person or Persons, tho' Privy to the said murder and Treason, who shall apprehended and Secure the said Christopher brown, Nathaniel Moore, William laurence, Christopher Strong, Bartholomew Clinch and Thomas Dillon or any of them, or cause them or any of them to be Apprehended and Secured, so as they may be brought to Iustice, an Assurance of his or their Life and Liberty. And We do hereby further Publish and Declare, that if any Person or Persons living in any Place or Places under Their Majesties Obedience, shall at any time hereafter presume to Receive, Harbour, Comfort, Relieve or Conceal the said Christopher brown, Nathaniel Moore, William laurence, Nicholas Strong, Bartholomew Clinch and Thomas Dillon, or any of them, or shall hold any Correspondence with them or any of them; they and every Person so Offending, shall be Prosecuted with the utmost Rigour, and Punished as Aiders Abetters and Correspondents of Traytors, Murderers, and Enemies to Their Majesties and Their Government.
