WHereas several Soldiers of the French Regiment of Foot under the Command of Colonel Francis du Cambon, have Deserted, and do still Desert and leave their Colours; We therefore hereby think fit to Publish and Declare, That all and every Soldier or Soldiers of the said Regiment, that shall at any time be found to straggle or be above a Mile from Athlone, their present Garrison, or from any other Quarter or Garrison in which they may hereafter be, shall be deemed and taken as Deserters, and punished accordingly. And all Persons whatsoever are hereby Required to stop and seize all and every such Soldier or Soldiers as they shall find to be so far distant from their said Garrison or Quarter, without a Printed Pass or licence from the Officer in Chief with the Regiment, and to carry or sand them in safe Custody to the said Officer in Chief, in order to their being punished according to their Demerit; And for every Soldier they shall so apprehended and deliver up, they shall receive the sum of Ten Shillings as a Reward.
