HONI SOIT QVI MAL Y PENSE  
dieu ET MON DROIT  By His MAJESTIES Authority.  
THese are to give Notice unto all Persons, that there is Arrived in this place JOHN NEWMAN, a Legal and Approved Practitioner in physic, and most expert in all chirurgical Operations, who, by means of his great Experience in Twenty years travail, hath attained to many Rare Secrets in physic and Chirurgery, by which he hath performed wonderful Cures on many hundreds of People. The Diseases that he Cures, and Operations he performs, and daily did in the time of his Travels, are as follows.  
He dexterously Couches the Cataract or Suffusion; and helps Rheums, Specks, Ongula or the Nail in the Eyes, Dimness, Pearls, weakness, and all other Infirmities of the Eyes, if curable. He hath Approved Remedies for the Falling-sickness, Megrum, Vertigo, Giddiness in the Head, Pains in the Head, although inveterate, as those called Cephalex and Hemicrania, Madness, frenzy, accidental Deafness, strengtheners the Memory, and helps all the Maladies of the Brain. Closeth up the Hair Lip, double or single, without deformity. Cures the infirmity of the Nose, called Polipus, superfluity of flesh growing in the Nostrils. Stinking Breath, Scurvy in the Gums, Ulcers of the Mouth, easeth all pains of the Teeth, Whitens black and yellow Teeth in a moment; He also displaceth Teeth, and sets in Artificial Teeth that to any mans judgement seemeth Natural: Cuts and Cures Wens, all sorts of sore Breasts, Noli me Tangere; Cancers be they in the Breast, Nose, Lips, or any other part of the Body. He helpeth those that are troubled with difficulty in making Water, as a Carnosity in the Yard, the ston, Sand, Gravel, phlegm in the Reins or Bladder, and Obstructions in the Reins, drives off the Prima Materia, slime or filth in the Reins, Bladder, or yard, and causeth water to be Freely made: But if the ston be so big and hard that it cannot be dissolved. He hath a singular good way for the Extraction or Cutting it forth the Bladder. He also searcheth without any Instrument, and shall let them understand 〈…〉 the ston before cutting. He Cures all sorts of Ruptures eit●… or Children; and seeing them, will Resolve whether they ma●… the Application of any Remedies or not; the which failing, 〈…〉 way of Cutting, and heals them in a short time, let them be as 〈…〉 Head. He maketh excellent Trusses that few or none have the like, they serve not only to Cure the Malady, but to prevent it in those that are subject to this Disease by wearing one of his Trusses. He Cureth such as Piss Blood and Matter, and those that cannot keep their water, difficulty of Breathing, the Cough, phthisic, Consumption, Fainting, Swooning fits of all sorts, the gripping of the Gu●s, wind-colic, and all distempers of the Bowels, Dropsies of all sorts. Destroyeth and bringeth forth of the bodies of Men, Women, and Children, worms of all sorts. Helps weakness of Digestion, loss of Appetite, vomiting all reins and wind in the Stomach, Diary, Lieutery, Disentery or Bloody-flux, Jaundice, Scurvy, Green-Sickness, easeth all pain of the Gout and Sciatica. All distempers inc●dent to Women he likewise cures, as the Clorises, hinders Abortion, the stoppage of the Terms and the fits of the Mother, and he hath a sure and certain Remedy against Barrenness. He also cures Cankers, fistulas, Ulcered sore Legs, or scabby Scurvy Legs, Rickets in children. All sorts of Agues. He cures scald Heads, the Hemorhoids both outward and inward, the pleurisy, helps all infirmities of the Liver, Lungs, and Spleen. He also cureth Morbus Gallicus, or French-Pox, the running of the Reins, sharpness of the Urine, with all things tending thereto by an Art without any peril, with all diligence, care, secrecy, and speed possible; His principle aim being to do good to such as are in misery. Courteous Reader, there is no Disease incident to human Bodies, whether External or Internal, from the Head to the Foot, proceeding of what Cause or Causes, Nature, Kind, or Quality soever, that is curable, but the above written will give satisfaction to those that are afflicted with any, and shall acquaint him therewith.  
I shall not trouble your Ears, to give you an account of the Operations I have performed in many parts of England, and other places beyond the Seas, but shall let you understand what Operations I have performed upon my Stage since my coming into Moorfields. March 28. 1679. I cut a large when, the bigness of a penny lo●f from off the Throat of Robert Bond a Carman, and is now very well. April 3. 1679. I cut a Cancered Breast from off Anne Abel, at the Rose inn in West-Sm●thfield, and is now in a probable way of Cure. April 2. 1679. I cut a large rapture from Michael Butts living next door to the sign of the Crown and Lamp in Gravel-Lane near Petticoat-Lane. April 4. 1679. I cut a Mealmans child of a large Hair-Lip, living next door to the Red-Lyon and Axe in Redcross-street. April 10. 1679. I took a large Cancer out of the Mouth of Anne Tucker, living in White-Eagle-street in Spittle-fields, and through the Blessing of God are in a prosperous way of cure, and some of them already cured.  
Let no man be afraid to come to me because of the long continuance of his Disease, for I have cured them that have been Diseased many years, and given over as uncurable. I Cure the Poor of Wens, Hair-lips, and Cancerated Breasts for Gods sake. Such as have occasion to make use of me, may Repair with their Water to my Lodgings every day of the week at Mr. Richard Shore's house at the Sign of the Prince of Oranges Head on Windmill-Hill in Moorfields.
