Princesses Powder. IT is with just Reason that this Powder has the Name of Princesses Powder, since four Princesses whose Beauty is so much talked of in Europe, are served with it, with so great Success, that by means of it, they have preserved their Skin, and their Beauty with an Air of Youth, till Seventy Years of Age. Madam de Montespan with whom the King of France has been so much in Love, very well knew, by this little Artifice, how to please that Prince, who has made her Beauty famous over all the habitable Earth; though naturally Madam de Montespan has no fine nor delicate Skin, but by the means of this Powder, which she has used all her life; she has preserved the fineness and Delicateness of her Skin so, that she does not appear above eighteen or twenty years of Age, though she be above fifty five. But as Mr. Ranet Apothecary and chemist at Paris is dead, and that he was the only man that knew the secret of Composing this Powder, he has left by writing to Peter Ranet his Son, the Secret to make the same. And as it is commonly known by experience, that this Powder produces extraordinary Effects, the said Mr. Ranet has been requested by several persons to sand it into Foreign Countrys, and particularly hither into England, where the Climate is extremely Harsh; and this Powder must have extraordinary Effects, as it has already had to several persons that have had very ill looks, that have recovered Lustre and their Beauty, by means of this Powder. In a word, it has the virtue to take away all Redness, all Pimples and Frecles, and generally all ill things that occur in the Face, making the Skin as fine, smooth, and Dilicate, as satin; As you may experience, by putting upon your hand a little of that enclosed in the packet; though a little Quantity does not produce the same Effect as a reasonable Quantity. There will be put to all the Bills that shall be distributed, and to all the packets of Powder that shall be sold, the Seal of him that made them; To the end, to prevent the Cheats that may happen, by persons pretending in a little time to sell this Powder, and pretending to have found out this Secret of making it.
