Thomas Saffold, an Approved and licenced Physician, and Student in Astrology, still lives at the Black-Ball and Lilly's Head, next door to the Feather-shops that are within blackfriars Gate-way, which is over against Ludgate-Church, just by Ludgate, in London, who Resolves these Questions following, viz. WHether any ones Life may be happy or unhappy. A person absent, if alive or dead, or when return. In what part of the World, City, or Country, is best to dwell in, or for any one to direct their Affairs to, thereby to live the more happily. Or if one shall be rich or poor, and if rich when, and by what means obtain it. Or if good to go the Journey intended, and when best to set out. Or the best-time to undertake any thing you would have prosper. Or if any Reports concerning Husbands, Wives, Friends, Ships at Sea, or other things, be true or false, or in what sense best to take them. Or if good to buy or hire the House or Land desired. Or if a Woman be with Child or no, and if with Child, whether it be Male or Female. Or if profit by Servants. He doth very seldom or never fail to give to any person diseased, a true account of the nature of any Disease afflicting, and part afflicted, and if curable or not, and if not curable, he will not take them in hand. Or if mary the person desired, if not the person desired, what like person, and the time when. Or if the Sweet-hearts or Wives portion be great or small, or if with ease or difficulty it may be obtained. Of money owing, if recoverable. Of Law-Suits who shall overcome. Or if good to go the Voyage intended. Or if one may obtain the Preferment desired, and when. Or whether a Friend be real. Of Enemies either secret or public, who they are, and whether they shall have power to hurt. Or if one shall fall into the danger feared, or how best to escape it. These and all other Lawful Questions he Resolveth according to the Rules of Astrology, and 23 Years experience. Lastly, He Calculateth Nativities, and Teacheth the whole Art of Astrology. The Sick may have Advice for Nothing, And of him good Medicines cheap, with directions how to use them, by which, and God's assistance, he is able to care any Disease, either inward, or outward, of what name or nature soever, if curable. He hath most incomparable Pills to cure the Scurvy, the best, or at least as good as any in being, which he will sell, with directions how to use them, at 1 s. 6 d. the half Box, and 3 s. the whole Box, containing 36 Pills. They may indifferent well be taken in any weather, but best in temperate weather, without hindrance of Business: And they will keep good some years, whereby they may be beneficial to such as live in the Country, or to Seamen that travail to Foreign Parts. They do not only cure the Scurvy, by opening obstructions of the Spleen, and purging melancholy humors from the Blood in every vein, but they purge Choler and Fleghm too, opens obstructions of the Liver, sweetens the Blood, and gives it its due Circulation. They cleanse the Breast, Stomach and Head of most Diseases that can afflict them. They open obstructions of the Womb in Women, and help them to the benefit of Nature, or monthly Purgations. They cleanse the Reins, and are as good a Purge in the Running of the Reins, or French-Pox, as any can be used, of which distemper he hath cured many with Privacy, without hindering of Business, in a little time, and for a small charge, when they have been spoiled, and almost undone by others, without Fluxing, or using of Mercury. With a pleasant liquour for the same, at half a Crown the Bottle, which cureth all heat of Urine and pain in making water. Also the Scurvy, dropsy, Ague, ston and Gout, if curable, as well as the Disease in Fashion. His Pills cures as many Distempers as any Purging Medicine can; and whosoever hath used them yet, have praised them, and I hope will do. Saffold's Cordial Elixir is a great Easer and Curer of all kind of pains in any part of the Body, from head to foot. It helps to give the Blood its due Ci●culation, and is excellent against the Scurvy, and may be safely taken at any time, or in any weather, but best two hours before Breakfast, Dinner, and Supper, and oftener if need requires, 1, 3, or 5 spoonfuls at a time, which you find doth best agree with your Age and Constitution. To cure any sort of Ague, take this or his Ague-Pill an hour before the Fit cometh, and sweat upon it, nothing more safe to cause a good stomach, and brisk lively Complexion. It's good to cure Women of all such Distempers as are not seemly to name in this Bill; it's prevalent in curing the Running of the Reins, and French Pox, which Distemper none cures sooner, few so well as him. In short, there is no Cordial nor Elixir made more uni●ersally good to cure( with God's help) any Disease in any nature( if curable) than his, which hinders no Business, and holds its full virtue for many years. Try before you Judge; Speak as you Find. He is to be spoken with from 8 in the Morning, till 10 at Night. A private Lodging may be had if desired. Beware you do not mistake his House, as some have done, another living near him, pretending to the same. His Cordial Elixir is Half a Crown the Half-pint Bottle, with directions in Print how to take it, or his best Pills and Diet-Drink. He knows some who are Knaves in Grain, And have more gull and Spleen than Brain, Will ill reward his Skill and Pain. And notwithstanding he hath practised Astrology above 23 years, and hath had the Bishop of London's Licence to practise physic, ever since the 4th. day of September 1674. and hath, he thanks God for it, great Experience and wonderful Success in both those Arts, giving to doubtful People great satisfaction, and, by God's Blessing, cureth the Sick of any Age or Sex of any Distemper, though given over by others, and never so bad,( if curable;) therefore let none despair of a Cure, but try him. Yet some co●ceited Fools will ask how he came to be able to do such great Cures, and to soretel such stra●ge things, and to know how to make such rare and powerful Medicines as his best Pills, Elixir and Diet-Drinks are, and wherefore he doth publish the same in Print. Bu● he will answer such dark Animals thus: It hath so pleased God the King of Heaven, Being He to him hath Knowledge given, And in him there Can be no greater Sin, Than to hid his Talent in a Napkin.
