The
C-EBLIP Fall Symposium: Librarians as Researchers is looking forward to its
second iteration on Wednesday, October
14, 2015 at the University of Saskatchewan. Building on the success of last
year’s inaugural event which saw 53 librarians attend from across Canada and
the US, this year’s symposium promises to be an active and engaging gathering
place for librarians interested in conducting research. This one-day conference
(with complimentary registration, including breakfast, breaks, and lunch) is
designed to facilitate sharing, collaboration, and networking with the focus on
librarians in their researcher roles. Whether it’s a requirement for
tenure and promotion, part of evidence based library and information practice,
curiosity, or contributing to one’s own practice or to the field of
librarianship, librarians approach research from the unique perspective of
practice.
The
C-EBLIP Fall Symposium: Librarians as Researchers consists of a series of
single-track sessions, along with a keynote address, posters (new this year!),
and time for networking. The sessions and posters will focus not only on the
research being done by librarians, but also on how librarians do research
(tips, tricks, methodology, collaborative efforts, etc.) and why librarians do
research (motivations or inspirations).
