Died 1792. 7. William and George Bryan Brum- MELL, sons of Mr. William Brummell, private secretary to Lord North. The younger boy, George Bryan, was after- wards the celebrated Beau." Born in 1777, he commenced his career in the I oth Light Dragoons, where he attracted the attention of H.R.H. the Prince of Wales ; he became a constant visitor at Carlton House, and was admitted by the Prince into the greatest intimacy. The daughter of a Surgeon at Cork, born in 1759; at the early age of fourteen appeared on the stage at Liverpool, and in 1777 at the Hay- market Theatre, London, as Miss Hardcastle in Slie Stoops to Conquer. Succeeded Mrs. Abingdon in her principal characters, and played them with great eclat. In 1797 married Edward Stanley, twelfth Earl of Derby, and retired from the stage. Died in 1829. Engraved by F.
