Just a “thank you” thrills the heart of the receiver and reveals
the kindliness of the giver. Gratitude is contagious, gratitude enriches
the home and the state, gratitude makes life worth living. During the
past year Michigan has shared with the Nation in peace and prosperity,
in civic and religious progress, in an appreciation of health and sanity.
The firesides of Michigan have had the courage and faith that conquers.
To God, the source of all power, it is fitting that we devote one day to
praise and thanksgiving in the spirit that shaft brighten and beautify
all the days of all the years to come. *
(UHerefure, I, Woodbridge N. Ferris, Governor of the State of
Michigan, do hereby join the President of the United States in desig-
nating Thursday, the 27th of November, as a day for aſſ of the people
of this Commonwealth to celebrate in thanksgiving and prayer.
