GOVERNOR
ſºſ.TN compliance with the Statute
º ºl directing the governor to annually,
lº) in the Spring, designate by official
proclamation a day to be known as Arbor
and Bird Day, to be observed in the schools
and in such other way as shall be indicated
in such proclamation, I designate Friday the
seventh day of May next, as
on which day the teachers in Our Schools
will read the proclamation in their schools
and impress upon their Scholars the import-
ance of maintaining Our shade trees and
forests, and the protection of Our Song birds,
thereby adding to the wealth and beauty
of Our State.
Given under my hand and seal of the State at the Capitol, in Hartford,
this fifth day of April, in the year of Our Lord, one thousand,
nine hundred and twenty, and of the independence of the United
States the one hundred and forty-fourth.
