We do most honor to the flag and to ourselves by the faith and veneration expressed in loyal service. And only as we behold it and work for it are we assured of continued growth and unimpaired ideals. Given under my hand and seal of the State at the Capitol, in Hartford, this seventeenth day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine and of the independence of the United States the one hundred and fifty-third.
