Ihis summary does not include digests of nursery- stock and plant-q^uarantine requirements relating to the movement of plants entirely within the State. In addition to State requirements, shippers will need to take into consideration applicable plant quarantined of the United States Department of Agriculture. In most instances these quarantines reg-vL^.te the inter- state movement of specified plants, plant products, and other articles from designated regulated areas. However, some of these quarmitines regu- late the interstate movement of certain articles into designated protected areas. Definition of ITarsery Stock. -<-Fi eld-grown wood,v -plants and parts used for propagation, vfhether cultivated or native, such as fruit, forest, and shade trees, evergreens, ornamental shrubs and vines, and all berrj'' plants, in- cluding strawlDerry, G-reenhouse plants are not included. \ General Shipping Requirements,— Any out-of-State nurseryman, dealer, or jotter shipping nursery stock into Iowa may ottain a license ty filing ndth the Iowa State Entomologist a signed copy of his current inspection certi- ficate and paying a fee of $5 or a fee equivalent to that charged ty his State to out-of-State firms. The Iowa State Sntoraologist v;ill determine which fee shall te paid. Licenses expire on September 1 following date of issue. Otherwise the shipment must tear the certificate of the nursery filling the order, and the stock must te represented as telonging to them, Iowa has no plant quarantines pertaining to interstate shipments.
