 AIMINISTRATIVE INSTRUCTIONS IESIGNATING RUST -RESISTANT SPECIES 
 AND VARIETIES OF BARBERRY, MAHOBERBERIS, AND MAHONIA PLANTS 
 
 Pursuant to the authority conferred upon him by § 301. 38-5 of the 
 regulations supplemental to the Black Stem Rust Quarantine (Notice of 
 Quarantine No. 38, 7 CFR 301.38-5) under section 8 of the Plant Quarantine 
 Act of 1912, as amended (7 U. S. C. l6l), the Chief of the Bureau of 
 Entomology and Plant Quarantine hereby issues amended administrative 
 instructions to designate the species or horticultural varieties within 
 the genera Berber is, Mahoberberis, and Mahonia that, on the basis of 
 evidence satisfactory to him, are determined to be resistant to black 
 stem rust, as follows: 
 
 I 301. 38 -5a Administrative instructions designating rust -resistant 
 barberry, mahoberberis, and mahonia plants" ! (a) The following species and
