Sharp by the Library School Association SMITH MEMORIAL HALL URBANA Thursday Afternoon, March Thirtieth Nineteen Hundred and Twenty-Two At Four O'clock. “> The Katharine L. Sharp Memorial Tablet com- memorates the service to the University of Ilh- nois, and to the profession of librarianship, of Katharine L. Sharp, Director of the Department of Library Science, Armour Institute, Chicago, from 1893 to 1897; University Librarian and first Director of the University of Illinois Library School, from 1897 to 1907. The tablet is made possible through voluntary gifts from former students in the Library School and in the Department of Library Science at: Armour Institute. It is the work of Lorado Tait, is executed in bronze in low relief, and is a por- trait of Miss Sharp. The tablet has been placed on the wall of the rotunda back of the delivery desk in the University Library.
