The portion known as the Woodland Property, approximately 1,500 acres in extent, has been named Robert Allerton Park. At the same time, Mr. Allerton designated almost 250 acres just north of the Park area for the Illinois 4-H Memorial Camp. This is being developed and maintained by the University for 4-H Club and related educational programs. A third area, consisting of 3,775 acres of land in eight different farms lying north of the Sangamon River, was provided with the stipu- lation that its income be used to maintain and develop the Park.
