SSI Deputy Director Simon Hettrick reflects on the progress of Research Software Engineers as he steps down as a trustee of the Society of Research Software Engineering.
The SSI Fellowship Programme 2021 Launch Webinar took place on 14 January and provided information about the Institute, the Fellowship Programme, the application process and considerations with regard to COVID-19.

Registration is open for the workshop 'Sustainable Software Development for Researchers' or 'Bring your own Script and Make it Ready for Publication' by Carina Haupt, Head of Group Software at the German Aerospace Centre. The workshop is part of our Research Software Camp on research accessibility.
There will be another Future Forum for the Secrious Project, Heriot-Watt University, on Saturday the 20 February 1-3pm.

Collaborations Workshop 2021 (CW21) will take place online from Tuesday 30 March to Thursday 1 April and the call for lightning talks is now open!

The Software Sustainability Institute’s Collaborations Workshop series brings together researchers, developers, innovators, managers, funders, publishers, leaders and educators to explore best practices and the future of research software.
